Deluxe digs for Luddite communications

This custom-crafted phone booth is located at 68 Hopkinton Road in Westborough:

It sports a dazzling blue paint job and a rounded roof clad in asphalt shingles:

The phone is clean and in working order, and is housed in a decorative wooden shelf unit:

I could find only two things that detract from this little piece of heaven.  The shelf below the phone should hold a nice thick phone directory, but there isn’t one.  I also noticed two spots along the door frame mortised for door hinges, so there was evidently a door on this booth at some point, but it’s now missing.

Nevertheless, it’s refreshing to see something like this surviving well into the era of mobile telephony.  Long may it endure!
