Worcester’s brutal ediface complex

I’ve had these pictures waiting in draft mode for weeks, just waiting for the right words.

I’ve already said quite a bit, but this building is even uglier in person than it was in the sketches:

I don’t understand this building. What is going on with the two towers? Are they stairs? And why do we need two? And are those parking decks, and if so, how does one get to them?

  2. Joe says:

Yes, the ends are stair/elevator towers. Pretty much any commercial building needs at least 2 egress paths.
The middle section is waiting for its exterior walls. Nicole’s first link has the Architect’s rendering of the finished product.

I hate it, hate it, hate it. I realized there will be some kind of surface slapped on the facade, but it will still be hideous. Prison visitor center.

Anyone have artist’s renderings of St. V’s cancer center across the street?

  4. It reminds me of the concrete awnings at Assabet Valley Tech high school in Marlborough.

It is the exact same framework as the new Planned Parenthood on Pleasant Street.
