An MUTCD is just a fancy 8-track tape, right?

This post is dedicated to Angela.

Here in the Big Dirty Woo we don’t care much for following federal street name sign standards.  If the name’s a long one, we just shrink the type to fit the blade:

. . . MUTCD be damned.

Note the air bubbles under the retroreflective green backing.  Quality control be damned as well.

About a hundred feet away from that newfangled hit single, we’ve left this “oldie but goodie” in place:

Try playing that on your fancy-shmancy MUTCD player, buster!

  1. MIKE says:

    Quinsig Village Represent!

I remember this intersection from the 70s:

    “Private Street
    Dangerous”
    “Not a Thru Street”
    “Palace Gardens Road”
    “To Melbourne St”

The signs almost flopped sideways there were so many stacked!
