Rebuilding Together Worcester is a volunteer organization that partners with corporations, organizations and individuals to rehabilitate the houses of low-income homeowners, including the elderly, disabled, and families with children, so that they may continue to live in safety and independence. The organization also rehabilitates non-profit facilities such as community centers and shelters.
Rebuilding Worcester 2010 will happen the weekend of April 16/17/18 with the following schedule:
- Friday afternoon (April 16)– half-day of set-up, preparation and other activities.
- Saturday (April 17)– will be the big day when most of the work on the homes will be done. We will divide the day into morning and afternoon shifts and volunteers will be able to choose to come for one shift, or for the entire day. Lunch will be provided for everyone on Saturday, even those coming for just a half day.
- Sunday afternoon (April 18)– we will provide another half-day of opportunities to help complete the projects and add some finishing touches.
You can find out more in the Rebuilding Together Worcester Letter to Volunteers (or in this summary of some of last year’s activities from the Holy Cross website).
