Beating Pulses, now with links

Last week, Jeff noted that the old media outlets in Worcester tend not to put real links in items first written for print and then posted online.

Clive’s column today was no exception.

The year-in-review report (pdf) is here.   You can find more about economic development and sign up for a monthly newsletter here.

Note that Jewel Box, mentioned on pages 3 and 4 of the report, has now closed.

(I’m also not sure if Eastern Boarder — spelled “Border” on page 5 — should qualify as a retail business that opened in 2009, since it moved from West Boylston Street to Shrewsbury Street.)

Talk about padded numbers- Jewel Box was just Block 5 Bistro reformatted, still under the same ownership.

Dana;s barber shop on West Boylston St moving to the town of West Boylston, so minus 2 businesses in 2010

Thanks to both of you for the comments; their definition of “new” seems to be different from mine!

also love the mbta stat of 75 minutes of worcester to boston, this is of course saying that the trains are always on time. Since the mbta train from worcester to boston is routinely delayed or if the train has to go a slower speed cause of “leaves on the rails” a guaranteed 75 min should be promoted, making it a much longer day.
